Life is hectic, and it's easy to lower our gaze and busy ourselves with the daily routine. I push back by giving attention to the beautiful and sometimes strange aspects of our existence and collective imagination. To pretend I have some sound reasoning behind my determination to paint what I find interesting would not be honest. I enjoy the struggle, and then brief satisfaction as I finish each painting.

I have fun with the process of bringing surreal, fantastic and sometimes mundane scenes to life using traditional art materials. I hope you find some satisfaction in viewing the work as well.

I start by creating a detailed pencil drawing, and then execute the final artwork using high quality oil paint. I use paint brushes of all sizes, as well as palette knives, to achieve the final illusion on rigid board.
